Weekly Highlights - June Edition 2

The United Nations in Sierra Leone continue to support inclusive development and improved service delivery across the country. Key achievements included expanding access to finance for women-led agribusinesses, strengthening evidence-based social protection programmes, advancing preparations for the 2026 Population and Housing Census, and accelerating efforts to end female genital mutilation and support survivors of obstetric fistula. UNICEF and partners also promoted greater investment in water, sanitation, nutrition, education, budget transparency, and child-focused public services. Together, these initiatives reflect the UN's continued partnership with the Government of Sierra Leone to empower communities, strengthen institutions, and improve the lives of women, children, and vulnerable populations nationwide.
