UNSDCF Mid-Year Report 2025

Sierra Leone’s journey toward the 2030 Agenda continues against a backdrop of resilience, reform, and transformation. Despite ongoing global economic shocks, climate pressures, and governance complexities, the nation has demonstrated steadfast commitment to advancing sustainable development, peace, and equity. The United Nations remains a trusted partner in this national journey, aligning its Cooperation Framework (2025–2030) with the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2024–2030) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This report outlines key results for the period 1st January - 30th June 2025.
As Sierra Leone advances through the second half of 2025, the United Nations, in close partnership with the Government, will intensify efforts to translate national priorities into tangible results for communities across the country. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening sustainable food systems to increase productivity, enhance nutrition, and reduce dependency on imports. Investments in human capital will continue to expand opportunities for young people, women, and marginalized groups through education, healthcare, and access to essential services.
At the same time, governance and economic transformation will remain central, with reforms aimed at building resilient institutions, fostering private sector growth, and ensuring greater accountability in service delivery. Innovation, data-driven solutions, and South-South cooperation will be leveraged to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring that no one is left behind. The United Nations sincerely thanks the Government of Sierra Leone, partners, civil society, and the private sector for their unwavering collaboration. We especially commend the resilience of Sierra Leone's people, whose dedication to peace and progress inspires us all. Together, we show that transformative change is achievable when we unite for a sustainable and inclusive future.
